Summer Suede

summer suede

Suede is a definite hit this summer and a fab trend which adds a new fabric and texture to an outfit. Suede was seen all over the SS15 runways with block colours and patchworks being found on dresses, skirts and jackets and it is a great trend to mix with fringing to create a real boho look (As seen on Olivia Palermo, above). I love the use of bright suede as its a little more quirky and fab as a staple piece to an outfit which will draw some attention and really show off your style. Below I have found some bargain suede pieces that are affordable and funky to wear this summer and into the winter with a pair of tights!

image3xxl ASOS Mini Skirt in Suede £50.00 – A little pricey but this soft touch suede will offer comfort and a fun orangey colour to your outfit. This mini skirt would look brill with a pair of converses and a simple logo tee, nothing too flashy just simple and cool.

image1xxl (2) ASOS Skater Dress in Colour Block £75.00 – This is a gorgeous dress simply because of its fun and girly fit and the fab pink shades to highlight your summer tan! This dress is perfect for casual drinks on holiday and a fab way to wear the trend.

d3111137_emily_30.01.15_aj_1677 Missguided Suede Tassel Long Sleeve Plunge Bodycon Dress £35.00 – This absolute bargain comes from Missguided and uses the fringing and suede trend together to create a dress for a nightout which will beat all your friends looks! A sleek and sexy fit of the bodycon dress, paired with the tassel sleeves is a great look and I absolutely love the colour (As does Elle magazine!) and it really screams Coachella chic.

27A11HBLE_2_large  Topshop Suedette Pleated Midi Skirt £48.00 – 70’s style is a must this season and this suedette skirt in a baby blue looks amazing with this gypsy style white off the shoulder top. This is a real pretty look and would be brilliant on holiday for a look you can dress up or down, simply throw on a loose fitting top and sandals for a stroll along the beach or a pair of 70’s platforms and a bardot crop top for a night on the town.

Celeb Style – Kate Bosworth

kate bosworth styleKate Bosworth has great style and chooses cool and current clothing that doesn’t simply blend into the background, instead she wear edgy, fun and feminine styles and mixes this up depending on the event. Quirky footwear, relaxed and wavy hairstyles and some pink lippy is key to recreating her fashionable flair. Here are 4 looks taken from red carpets, festivals and casual street style, giving a different outfit for a range of occasions I will recreate these Kate Bosworth classics at affordable prices!

The Kim K Trend

The Kim K Trend
Kim Kardashian definitely has her own personal style and is commonly seen sporting the pencil skirt and crop top look. This has become a staple piece for Kim, with many trying to replicate the simple look which is perfect for showing off all your curves. To get the Kim K look is pretty simple, just find a nicely fitting pencil skirt in a colour of your choice, I have gone for the trending pastel pink from New Look. Then either find a co-coordinating coloured top or if you have chosen a black skirt, perhaps brighten the outfit up with a statement colour like red or purple. Then find a pair of killer heels in a neutral colour, get some fake tan on, paint your nails nude and if you’re going all out with wanting to look like her, buy some dip dye and bright up your hair with some ombre for the summer!

A Retro Runway

A Retro Runway
NYFW 2014 has seen some gorgeous trends and one of my favourites is the modern take on a classic 1950’s style midi skirt. Its a perfect spring and summer style which can be dressed up and down. I chose this fab River Island black and white check midi skirt (£30) with the Topshop cutaway tank top (£10 Such a bargain!), which is very fitting with the monochrome trend which has been seen on so many catwalks. Finally I added a cute cross necklace with some vintage feel glasses and a killer pair of platforms, a perfect look straight off a New York runway.

Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink
Usually I don’t tend to wear bright colours that are girly and noticeable, however with pastel and sherbet colours becoming very fashionable I’ve began to love these vibrant colours and a fave atm is this pastel pink. The outfit is bright but not OTT (I hope!) for those of us who don’t tend to wear these colours often. This wool and silk blend skirt is very feminine and pretty and works great with the casual, rolled sleeve pink crop as it looks more relaxed. Although pink is the theme, I think it is best to use sparingly and match it with a more neutral colour, this being the cream handbag and chunky sandal heels. The metal strap on the heels matches with the quirky round-frame metal sunnies and will look really cute with some frilly socks (another key popular trend!).

Red Hot Polka Dot

20130817-120354.jpg

Found this awesome pair in Topshop a while back and thought it was such a quirky and cute outfit! The red polka dots are so eye catching but having a crop top matching the pencil skirt makes the items so much more versatile, as you could pair another top with the skirt or put the polka dot crop with some skinny jeans and heels. Perfect mix and match.

‘So Infinity’

'So Infinity'
The Infinity symbol is such a simple design but also so on trend. I wanted to make this outfit match this simplicity of the Infinity bangle, but still have some edge. I went for Rihanna’s collection at River Island and found this awesome matching pair of a knotted top and skirt. Although they may look dull from first sight, when you put them on they will look awesome, especially matched with the quirky gladiator Topshop sandals. They may be a bit of a ‘marmite’ style (love them or hate them) but they are a very popular at the minute and perfect for your holidays!
